Our Community Spotlight Partner–Project Mend-A-House
We have been happy to lend our support to Project Mend-A-House (PMAH) in their award-winning endeavors. Project Mend-A-House truly is one of our valued partners in Prince William County and Manassas, Virginia, as we work together on the needs of our mutual clients. As a Center for Independent Living, we work with people with disabilities on their Independent Living needs. Imagine how important being able to maintain ones own home is to a person’s independence!
Through volunteer efforts, PMAH has reached out to many people in our community to provide home modifications and accessibility features so they can come and go from their homes as they please. With access to the community, people with disabilities can work, play, and provide their expertise to a community that needs it, instead of being shut away and forgotten.
We know that accessibility is not the only concern of PMAH, though it is the portion of their work that most greatly draws our attention. Additionally, they have helped almost 100 people to achieve other much needed home improvements. The fact that Project Mend-A-House is able to coordinate so much of their work through voluntary efforts, demonstrates how important volunteers view the work of PMAH. Volunteers make a difference, not only to the individuals they serve, but also to the community.
Project Mend-A-House does not just talk the talk, they walk the walk, with their volunteers making very big steps that would be difficult for any other business in our region to fill.
We are strong supporters of Project Mend-A-House and are happy to call them our partners.
