Youth Leadership Forum Alumnus of the Year by Stephanie George
I am proud to announce that one of the Delegates we interviewed for the Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) in 2006, Emilia Prokop, was awarded Alumnus of the Year 2007.
Emilia worked diligently on goals she set for herself at the 2006 Forum. She has graduated high school and will be working with the supported employment program this fall.She continues to work on her career path as an advocate and young leader. She has been very eager to try new things, working her way towards the top. Congratulations Emilia!
The YLF Program seeks to empower youth with disabilities to further develop leadership skills. This includes training and assistance to develop individual career and life goals, leadership skills and self esteem. The youth attend workshops and share in their experiences with peers, mentors and volunteers.
