Accessibility

Considering this site primarily serves people with disabilities, it should be as accessible as possible. There are always confines and limitation to the accessibility provided on a site, particularly when using a 3rd party application such as a CMS, but I hope you will find the site user friendly and accessible.

The site should meet most requirements of accessibility through the application and implementation of various web standards (meaning you should be able to use the site without problems).

You should be able to increase or decrease font size through your browser interface, the design of the site is intended to scale up gracefully.

If you need to use a high contrast view of the site, you may select that option in the drop down list available below the search box.

If you encounter a problem while using the site (particularly if it is a disability-related issue), please make sure to contact the Office Administrator at 703-257-5400 ext. 110 (Voice/TTY).

Standards compliance

What about Bobby compliance?

Bobby is a tool (program) used to automatically verify compliance with some of the webstandards listed above. It used to be the tool of choice to “certify” compliance. However, as with most things, the quality of Bobby’s reports has declined, and as with most automated tools it is prone to errors. Instead of relying on machines, we have systematically gone through the site to ensure compliance with standards.
